Exodus 37 Take note of everything that was made with pure gold. Where did all the gold come from? From the booty that the Israelites got from Egypt. Don't forget they left Egypt as slaves having nothing but what was given to them-the favor of God.

Matthew 28:8-10 Why did Jesus appear to the women before the other disciples? Simple, they were where Jesus could be found. Are you where Jesus can be found, or are you dragging Jesus with you in places where you should not be?
Matthew 28:11-15 Notice it was the priests that bribed the guards. They took God's money to bribe people. What is sad is that this happens still at times.
Matthew 28:18-20 The Great Commission is for all followers of Jesus Christ. What is sad is in one survey over 80% of Christians interviewed did not even know what the Great Commission was about.
Psalm 34:11-22
Psalm 34:11-14 Do you want to live a long and prosperous life? Then don't lie, turn from evil, work towards peace.
Psalm 34:15-22 Do you want the favor of God? Be humble, walk in righteousness, and serve God.

The people gave willingly. When you hear the call to help support a ministry are you as willing to give what you can? This passage reminds of a story my wife told me. In the Philippines here church was in a building program. The people came to church and willingly gave their jewelry and other possessions.

Jesus refused to lessen the suffering he was going through-He knows the suffering each of us go through.

Jesus remained humble in the midst of the mockery. He trusted His life, and even His death, in the hands of the Father.

The sin of mankind, our sin, separated Jesus from the Father.
Matthew 27:50-54
Even with all these events, there were many who instead of being like the soldiers, instead hardened their hearts. Some people say they would believe in God if they saw Him. The Pharisees and others saw God in the flesh and still did not believe in Him. Sin, rebellion, stubbornness, and pride and prevent people from seeing the obvious.
Exodus 34:1-35:9

God is slow to anger and forgiving, but at the same time there are consequences for sin and rebellion. Some would say if there are consequences, there is no forgiveness, When we think of a holy God, if there was no forgiveness, then the consequence would always be death, so I am thankful that our God is a forgiving God.
Exodus 34:8-9
Moses stood in the gap for the people, notice he says 'we' even though he had not sinned like the people.
Exodus 34:10
After the molten calf incident, God says He will do miracles for Israel, that is forgiveness!
Exodus 34:11-26
There were stipulations for the miracles to take place-the nation of Israel needed to be obedient.
Exodus 34:21
God was serious about the 7th day Sabbath. Each Sabbath was a reminder to the people that God is their Creator.
Exodus 34:28-35
It must have been tough on Moses to not eat or drink for 40 days, but look at the reward of his sacrifice-the glory of God was on Him and he had daily communion with the Lord.
Exodus 34:1-3
Isn't it interesting that the first words out of Moses mouth is about the Sabbath out of all the other commandments.

Notice Aaron shaped the calf and built an altar before the image-to spiritualize their sin

We can move (or still) the hand of God with our intercessory prayers.

A flat out lie. This bold lie came from Moses 'right hand man' who had seen God move many times. He allowed people to sway him more than God.

This seems harsh, but if Moses had not dealt with the rebellion in a very direct manner, there would have ultimately been anarchy-many more would have died.

Moses interceded for the people again. However, there is judgment against sin,

Some use this as an argument that jewelery should not be worn. Must always read the Bible in context. It was the jewelry that they used to make the calf. This was God's way to try and prevent a repeat of the molten calf event.

Moses was crying out for intimacy and assurance from God.

All of these ceremonies and rules were to remind the nation of Israel that God is holy.

These workmen were given special abilities and skill.

The Sabbath was a reminder of creation. The Sabbath was obviously important to God to the point of violators being put to death. So, did God do away with the Sabbath?
Exodus 29:1-30:10
There were exact details to be followed. The priests had a choice if they would obey or not. We will find out later that disobedience could lead to death.

Judas knew Jesus knew it was him, yet he still betrayed Jesus. Of course, many speculate that Judas assumed that Jesus would not die, that instead Jesus would establish His kingdom on earth.

God gave specific details. You can be assured that the Israelites did not do a shabby job. How many Christians do a shabby job at work, volunteering, etc.

Matthew 25:1-13 There are different interpretations of this parable. Regardless of the interpretation, the main point is that we need to be ready.
Matthew 25:14-30 We need to be faithful with want God gives us.
